Objectives:

WP2 analyses how stakeholder engagement in radiation protection is enacted in practice. It builds on WP1, by looking closely at how the legal requirements, guidelines and recommendations are implemented, what the related challenges and opportunities are, and how these can be met. WP2 will consider both institutional and non-institutional approaches and will provide recommendations on how to deal with fields of large public interest and concern. The outcomes of WP2 are i) an evaluation of the impact (e.g. institutional uptake, mutual learning) of past or on-going participatory activities or the lack thereof in radiation protection decision-making processes, in relation to three exposure situations; ii) elucidating whether stakeholder engagements in the different fields of radiation protection are comparable, which broader lessons can be learned, and what is specific to each field and why.
